Tool/software:

12VDC to 5.5VDC. 4A.

I have an issue where the chip gets very hot with NO load.

I am using 100uf x 2 GRM32ER61A107ME20L ceramic capacitor.

After the 10m ohm current resistor, I have another 100uF of GRM32ER61A107ME20L

With the COMP in the schematics, I get oscillation at the output. High ripple of 1V amplitude.

I changed the COMP componnt to 6.8K , 15nF, 60pF , get lower output ripple, but chip getting up to 100C.

Hi Andrew,

The schematic looks no obvious issue. Could you share layout to see if any issue?

not sure if you can see, I used the curve trace, not sure if that did something?

Last release was straight lines with 45 degree angle. did not have that issue.

Hi Andrew,

No big issue in the layout. I see you said the IC gets 100C, so I guess you have a thermal camera, could you see there's other components are heat?

And please measure SW1, SW2, IL, Vout waveform for further analysis.
