BQ40Z80: Question to ShutDown and MaxError

Part Number: BQ40Z80

Tool/software:

Hi

We are working on an BMS with BQ40Z80. We are wondering what happen to the MaxError after the BMS has been a long time in ShutDown.

After startup to normal mode, will the MaxError be higher or even 100% or will it stay where it was? Does the time matter, how long the pack was in ShutDown?

Additional question to MaxError: Does it only reflect, how accurate RelativeStateOfCharge() and AbsoluteStateOfCharge() are or does it also give information about accurency of RemainingCapacity()?

Will RemainingCapacity() be correct after wakeup from Shutdown after a longer time?

Thank for your answers

Best,

Marco

  • Hi Alan

Can you give priority to this question, especially if MaxError also reflects accurency on RemainingCapacity or if RemainingCapacity is always accurate without takeing MaxError into account.

Background is, that our device warns the user, if the battery is soon empty. Is it safe to just look on RemainingCapacity or do I need also to take MaxError into account?

How will the accurency of MaxError and RemainingCapacity be affected by long Shutdown time? After shut down, the battery pack will be charged to full capacity.

    Thanks for your udpate.
    Best,
    Marco
