The datasheet states that the thermal‑shutdown function operates at TJ = 160 °C (VIN = 18 V).
Could you please confirm whether the same threshold applies when VIN = 5 V, or if the threshold changes under this condition?
We measured the device temperature while applying a load current of 2.7 A and calculated TJ = 122.6 °C.
However, when we increased the load current to 2.8 A, thermal shutdown occurred.
This implies that a 0.1 A increase in current results in a temperature rise of more than 30 °C, which raises the question of whether the threshold at VIN = 5 V is set lower than 160 °C.
We would appreciate your clarification on this.
