TLC5916-Q1: Need technical info for LED driver

Hello team ,In our one of ASIL B cluster project we were planning this LED driver - TLC5916-Q1 ,but with this product we have challenges like as -MCU can't monitor this through SPI/I2C some channel ,and secondaly IC failure itself can't be understood by MCU through monitoring though there are some internal registers indicating LED failrues and internal IC failures

Now we have decided to go with - TLC6C5724-Q1 which supports SPI channel which can be used for continuous monitoring from MCU and also its internal failures as well as IC failure can be understood

please confirm is my inference correct or if any other suggestions thanks

Hi our requirement is ASIL B for system -hence I checked this 24 channel TLC6C5724-Q1 part suffices like LED failure monitoring as well as its SPI is easy to sync with MCU (RH850) and may be MCU can monitor this like heartbeat instead of just checking in interrupt basis or registers ,so this will also help us to detect TLC6C5724-Q1 its internal failure ,complete failure -is my understanding correct ,please confirm thanks

Hi Piyush,

Yes. Your understanding is basically correct. But if you need more detailed FIT rate and FMD, then we couldn't provide this. We only have Pin FMEA. But the new device has complete documentation.
