TLV742P: Ordering parts for output above 3.3V

Part Number: TLV742P
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A20, TLV755P

Tool/software:

Hello,

The datasheet for the TLV742P indicates fixed output voltages are available to order from 0.85V to 5V in 50 mV steps.

Further notes in addendum list the different parts available to order, but those are limited from 1.1V to 3.3V with various increments ranging from 100 mV to 300 mV.

These can be ordered from various retailers, which is fine for the 3.3V I'm looking for, but I also need a 4.5V output one.

Is there a way to order a 4.5V output chip ? If so, how ?

Best regards,
Matthieu

  • Hello Matthieu,

The 4.5V output option is not released to market for this device, however there are two other alternative devices which do offer 4.5V output in the same package option and pinout: TPS7A20 and TLV755P

I also included below a quick spec comparison table between the three devices:

  • Thank you very much, unfortunately, they will not fit my applications. What I'm looking for are LDOs that also feature a very fast start-up time.

More specifically : I need the slowest LDO to reach 99% of Vout in 161 µs or less after being Enabled.

The TLV742P seems to be fast enough (98% in 100µs), but unfortunately, the two alternatives you listed do not. A 1x1 mm² package is prefered, but 2x2 mm² will do as well. Dropout voltage should be 300 mV at most, but this should be fine, it looks like most chips fit this criteria.

I will be looking further into TI's list of components.

    Have a great day,
    Best regards,
    Matthieu
