Dear team,

In the EVM, LineOV is connected via transformer. Can I know the reason why it is done like this? The related E2E answered it is for hiccup OCP from OVP, but I does not really make sense for me.

My customer is struggling unexpected OVP and even adding capacitor or ferrite beads, it did not improve. Can you please advice what we can do next?

    Hi,

    The EVM is to use LineOV with current transformer to make hiccup OCP.

    You do not have to use LineOV for OCP. If you use it for LineOV, then you need to design a voltage divider to achieve. The unexpected OVP is likely due to the noise from not proper layout. You need to show how your LineOV layout is so we can help to find how to improve.

    Hi Hong,

    That makes sense. EVM uses LINEOV-pin for hiccup OCP.

    My customer wants to achieve OVP, so I recommend them to connect LINEOV to VIN. Let me ask customer if they can show us their layout.
