TPS6521905: PMIC for FPGA and Controller Applications

Dear Technical Support Team,

My customer is currently evaluating PMICs for use in a system that includes a Microchip PolarFire FPGA and a controller. We are looking for a power management IC that meets the following requirements:

  • Input voltage: ~5.5V
  • Output:
    • Voltage range: 1V to 3.4V
    • Number of outputs: At least 3 ports
  • Power sequencing
  • Simple voltage configuration: Ideally via external resistors or similar methods.
  • No dependency on external communication at startup

We found several products on your website that appear to meet these criteria. To help us narrow down the options, could you please recommend the most suitable products for our use case?

Please note that the required number of LDO outputs is still undecided at this stage.

    Looking at your requirements, 
    I would suggest either of the following

    TPS650250:

    • VIN: 2.5-6 V
    • 3 Buck converters, 3 LDOs
    • All externally adjustable with resistor dividers
    • Separate enable pins for sequencing

    TPS65053-Q1:

    • VIN: 2.5 - 6 V (bucks), 1.5 - 6.5 V (LDOs)
    • 2 Buck converters, 3 LDOs
    • Bucks and two LDOs adjustable with resistor dividers, LDO3 fixed at 1.3V
    • Separate enable pins for sequencing
