Dear TI support,

I was wondering if you could expand upon the impact of the SC bit for the bq78380-R1?

It is located in the CEDV Gauging Configuration.

This bit enables learning cycle optimization for a Smart Charger or independent charge.

Does it have any overall impact on how accurate the gauge is? Or anything else?

The gauge will automatically (default) clear out any over-charge if you use a "smart charger" (one that is sync'd with the gauge). Otherwise it'll estimate the over-charge and add this to the learned charge, which will affect FCC.
