TPS53627: VR13 controller for the Intel Denverton SoC

Hi,

We are planning on using the TPS53627 controller for the Intel Denverton SoC, 4-core version (SKU 13). The current drawn by the SoC from its power rails is relatively small - 4.5A max.

My question - is TPS53627 the best option for a 4-core Denverton SoC? I think the TPS53622 would be a better choice. Also, along with the VR13 controller, can you please recommend a power stage?

Hi Michael,

TPS53622 or TPS53626 have been used before for Denverton. For power stages, CSD95375/7, CSD97395/4/6 or CSD95379 are recommended.

Thanks for your response. You did not mention the TPS63627. Can TPS53627 be used for Denverton, or should we switch to TPS53622 or TPS53626?

I would recommend switching to TPS53622 or TPS53626 since these have been historically used for the Denverton platform.

Hi Maha, thanks for the feedback. We are switching to TPS53622. The power Vin is 5V, not 12V. I think that should not be an issue, but can you please confirm?
