Hi,

I am planning to use TPS552882-Q1 in my design with the following parameters

VIN - 8 to 36 V

VOUT - 12/5/3.3V

IOUT - 16 A

Operating Temperature - -40 to 125 deg C

Will this work?

I am unable to simulate in Webench with this chipset

What will be the design's efficiency?

Hi Baghiya,

Will the device need to output 16A? If so, I am afraid TPS55288 can't support it due to avg current limit (14A min).

Could you explain the max output current for each output rail separately?

VIN - 8 to 36 V

VOUT - 12/5/3.3V

IOUT - 16 A

Hi Bryce,

Can it support 12A peak current for 12V. Other rails consume less than 10A.

Also, how can we simulate the circuit for this as it is high current design, we need surity to proceed further.

Hi Baghiya,

The device also can't support 12Vo/12A with 8Vin, assuming the efficiency is 90%, the avg inductor current at 8Vin would be 12V*12A/0.9/8V=20A which is higher than the current limit. Recommend to look at LM51772 device.

Can you suggest me a integrated FET solution?

Also, can I use the switcher TPS552882-Q1 for 12V 8A?

Hi Bgahiya,

Sorry, currently we don't have the integrated FET solution for that high power. The most suitable device is LM51772-Q1 part.

For Vin=8V-36V, Vout=12V/8A, TPS552882-Q1 is ok with that.
