We design a lot of boards here and have started preferring integrated power modules over discrete designs. However, the packages are too tight and as a result they drive up cost and preclude use on heavier copper (2oz or more) boards. For example the part listed above (TPSM365R15RDNR to be specific) we've used on boards but the close pin spacing causes the rest of the board to be more expensive. That package in particular has a number of pins that don't get connected; maybe they could be omitted so that the required pins could be spaced out more.
So TI, please when you're designing packages talk to a layout person, and assess how you could space out the contacts more, preferably 8 mils (0.2mm) or more would allow heavier copper and easier to mass produce PCBAs.
