BQ78350-R1: FCC SOH update

Hi,

In section 9.1.7, the BQ78350-R1 performs EDV-based RC adjustments when Current() ≥ 3C/32.(the capacity of my battery is 12120 mAh and the other one is 9090 mAh).

However, I configured the Overload Current to 200 mA.

When the current is 120 mA, the update occurs as expected — there is an update of FCC.

Is this normal behavior? I would like to understand what is happening in this scenario.

You should not see an FCC update if the current is -120mA and your Design Capacity is 12120mAh or 9090mAh.

12120mAh*3/32[1/h] = 1136mA
9090mAh*3/32[1/h] = 852mA

I checked your configuration and the FW rules. The gauge will apply the overload and 3C/32 rules if RM is <= BatteryLow% * (FCC - ReserveCapacity)/100

Your battery low parameter is only 4% hence this rule will not be met in most cases if voltage drops below EDV2.
