Tool/software:
Hi,
I had raised a question on this page: LM5143: External SYNC Support - Power management forum - Power management - TI E2E support forums. Unfortunately, I can't reply to that page anymore, as it is locked. Hence posting the reply here:
Could you please confirm whether this information still holds true: "I confirmed this with designer. The synchronization frequency should be within +-20% of typical value of frequency set by the RT. I believe you won't need RT trim setting as external clock in your application meets the synchronization criteria."
I would appreciate a confirmation, because a contradicting information was given on another E2E forum page related to same question: LM25143: TPS40140 External SYNC frequency range - Power management forum - Power management - TI E2E support forums. There it was told "The +/-20% will be for whatever the switching frequency measured on the device is when you set RT=100kHz. You will need to account for the variation in the internal clock to calculate your worst case scenarios for switching frequency."
Which of these two information is reliable?
Thank you and kind regards,
Eldho
