Tool/software:

Hello,
I am trying to install the “bq Evaluation Software.” I have tried it on several computers. I started with a WIN10, then a WIN7 system, and finally a WIN XP 32-bit system. Always with the same result. “Runtime Error 339; msComctl.ocx” is missing or not registered correctly. The error message also appears when I have added the file to /Windows/System32 and registered it.
Could it be a problem with the software? Unfortunately, I cannot use EvalutionStudio because it does not support BQ30Z55 chips.
I bought a Phantom 4 with two batteries. These are discharged below the voltage threshold because the previous owner left them unused for too long. Technically, the batteries are still fine.
Can anyone help me?

  • Hello,

This question has been assigned and will be reviewed when possible.

    Thank you,

  • msComctl.ocx is part of MS Visual Basic so if this doesn't work then the problem must be fixed on the OS/VB level. I can't endorse third party web-sites but a quick internet search pulled up several web-sites that discuss how to fix this.

The TI SW relies on the OS registering this MS component (it's not a TI product) so if this doesn't work then no-one here at TI can tell you exactly why this doesn't work on your computer.
