Based on the datasheet, the θJA is 157.3. This data is very high for a power chip.
Can you confirm if there is any error in this data?
If the condition are:
Vin: 5V, Vout: 4.2V, Iout: 3A, efficiency:92.5%
Then the temp. rise will be 158.38.
