UCC27624: Reason for damage

Hi All,

I have a question about the UCC27624.

I noticed smoke coming from near the VDD pin when powered on. VDD=24V.
Could there be any reason for this damage?

The connection of the OUTA pin is unknown, so we are currently checking.

When OUTA was open, there was no damage.

I suspect the cause of the damage is that when the drain-source voltage of the external MOSFET suddenly changes, current flows back from OUT to VDD through the gate-drain capacitance (Cgd).
I think this is what caused the damage, but what do you think? Could you please let me know if there have been any cases of damage in the past?

Hi Ishiwata-san,

Could you please provide the schematic so I can check the driver configuration, and could you also let me know the system conditions like switching frequency, VIN level, and the part number of the FET? Once I have these items I can better determine the possible cause of the issue.
