My customer is planning to adopt the TPS62175DQCR.
As part of the evaluation, we measured the phase margin of their prototype.
Normally, the gain decreases on the positive side as the frequency increases, and the phase at 0 dB gain is considered the phase margin.
However, in this case, the measured characteristics show that the gain remains flat at around -20 dB up to approximately 2 kHz, and only starts to decrease beyond that point—never reaching 0 dB.
Questions:
- Is this kind of characteristic acceptable?
- What is the appropriate method to measure the phase margin in such a case?
