UCC34141-Q1: Feedback resistor design-dual output

Part Number: UCC34141-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC34141

Tool/software:

I have used TI's design calculation sheet while designing feedback resistor for UCC34141(Dual output). To get a 15V output as per the calculation sheet top feedback resistor (RFBVDD_TOP) is 66kΩ. But as per the equation given in the calculation sheet as well as in the datasheet I have done hand calculation and got different value for RFBVDD_TOP. Please clarify the mismatch in resistor value.

  • Divyasree,

Box 13C, the one I have highlighted in this screenshot, is meant to be the voltage from VDD-COM. In your case that would be 15V. When you sent the file to me this value was set to 19V which I assume is the total bias you want (VDD-VEE) because box 14C (COM-VEE) is 4V. This is not what is the calculator expects and is why you get 66k ohms instead of 50k ohms that would be consistent with your hand calculations.

Good catch, these kinds of details are easy to miss.

    Carter
