TPS54531: What is the maximum continuous output current

Part Number: TPS54531

Tool/software:

Dear Sir

I am currently using the TPS54531 buck converter in my design.
My input voltage is 24 V, and the required output is 12 V.

Could you please confirm:

  1. What is the maximum continuous output current I can safely draw under these conditions?

  2. Could you also share a recommended reference schematic for 24 V input to 12 V / 5 A output application?

This information will help us finalize our power stage design.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards

P. Mahesh

  • Hi Mahesh,

For given specifications IC junction temperature might increase than the recommended value, please follow the attached suggestions to decrease the temperature.

So, Maximum output current you can draw can be till 4.5A under these conditions.

    I have attached the schematic for the given specifications (i.e Vin = 24V, Vout = 12V, Iout = 5A).

But we recommend you to draw maximum of 4.5A with Vin = 24V and Vout = 12V, please find the schematic design also:

    Best regards,

    Usha.
