Hi team,
We're doing the Sifos test at PD portion with UTP cable and the Cdet value is fail which is over 0.12, but if we change to STP cable, this test will pass. Is there any reason to get the different results?

Hi Emma,
Thanks for reaching out.
The UTP and STP will have different parasitic capacitance for the cable, which may have impact on the Cdet reading on the PSE side.
May I know what cables are these two? Are they cat5? And how long are the cables used here?
Meanwhile, can you also provide the schematic for the PD part?
Best,
Zhining
Hi Emma,
The cable sounds ok to me.
Could you provide the schematic and the Sifos test report?
Best,
Zhining
