Hi team,

I need a bidirectional buck-boost charger to support Li-on battery, AEC-Q100 needed and minimum 24V for input. Can BQ25858B support this type of battery?
I also saw the BQ25856 but its efficiency is slightly less good.

    Hi Benjamin,

    The BQ25858B-Q1 is DC/DC only. It does not have the battery protections that the BQ25856-Q1 does. The BQ25856-Q1 is recommended for charging a battery. These two devices are very similar, and I believe the efficiency differences are due to the BOM selection and FSW selection. The efficiency of the device is dependent on the external component selections.
