Hello Tony,
Thanks for promoting TI FETs at your customer. In theory, the body diode should have the same current capability as the FET channel when it is on. However, it depends on the power dissipation. Please see the app note at the link below for more details on how to calculate the body diode current capability. Using typical Rθja = 45°C/W and typical Vsd = 0.8V, the estimated max body diode current is calculated as follows:
Max Pdiss(25°C) = (150°C - 25°C) / 45°C/W = 2.8W
Max Isd(25°C) = 2.8W/0.8V = 3.5A
