UCC21550: Can place a parallel cap on DT pin which is greater 1nf?

Part Number: UCC21550
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21540

Hi Team

the pre-PCN UCC21540, TI recommends to place a cap on DT pin which is >2nf, post-pcn device or UCC21550, we recommend the cap <1nf.

Now second souce in customer BOM is NSI6602, which is recommend place a cap>2nf still.

If ourpost device can withstand a cap >2nf?  what the difference between post-pcn and pre-pcn on DT pin's design?

How dose this cap impact this function?

  • Hi Harry,

There were no changes in the noise robustness of the DT pin between the pre-PCN device and post-PCN device.

This means that any DT components used in the pre-PCN material that showed no issues will also show no issues with post-PCN material.

Our design team found that the ideal DT capacitor value is 1nF or less which is the reason this was changed in the datasheet.

    Regards,

    Hiroki
