If we implement the TUSB546A in accordance to the Enabling HDMI over Type-C app note, then this should be fine.

We actually do not have a PD product recommendation. We are unable to find a PD controller that supports HDMI alt. mode as this is a very niche use case.

Why did the end customer change from DisplayPort to HDMI here? We do not recommend HDMI alt. mode designs..

Using HDMI alt. mode will make the implementation much more difficult as HDMI1.4, the only USB Type-C compliant HDMI spec, is DC coupled. The USB Type-C interface is AC coupled. 

Will the USB Type-C connector utilize flip, or will it be fixed orientation connector or will both orientation be required to operate?
