LM5190QEVM-400: Method for Changing the Constant Current Value

Part Number: LM5190QEVM-400

Applying a DC voltage of 0.1V to 0.9V to the “ISET” pin of the LM5190QEVM-400 from its initial state does not change the constant current value.

Next,

even when no DC power is connected to the LM5190QEVM-400's “ISET” pin, and a 10K to 47K resistor is connected between “ISET” and GND, the constant current value does not change.

Does this indicate a fault with the LM5190QEVM-400?

If it is not a fault, could you please tell me the correct method to change the constant current value?

  • Hello Shinichi

    1. Set the e-load in CV mode and set the CV limit higher than your regulation target.

    2. Make it sure your converter works well and the buck converter output is in regulation.

    3. Set the CV limit of your e-load below the output regulation target

    4. Measure ISET and IMON together. If the IC is in CC mode, ISET should should be equal to IMON voltage.
