My customer has a BUCK device request, please help to recommend suitable devices. Thanks.

Input voltage 3 ~ 12 V
output 2.8 V
5‑8 A witn minimum input voltage 3.2 V
Must support FPWM mode
Output OVP (Nice to have): The output side may be connected to a voltage source higher than the set value, and the chip can not be damaged or back‑fed.

Hi Oscar,

My customer don't need Auto device. Please help to confirm TPS62918 (hasn't output OVP) and LM61480 (has output OVP) are suitable for this socket? Or do you have other recommendation? Thanks.

Besides, if we have LM61480EVM or other EVM can evaluate LM61480? Customer want get a EVM to test the function. Thanks.

Hi Ryker,

Both LM61480 and TPS62918 are suitable non-automotive buck options for your socket, supporting 3–12V input, 2.8V output, FPWM, and 5–8A with 3.2V minimum input. The LM61480 supports output OVP if needed, while TPS62918 does not. LM61480 EVM is available for evaluation, allowing your customer to test device performance and OVP function. No further recommendations required unless your requirements change.

I can’t find any LM61480EVM information in TI.COM. Could you help to how can I get the LM61480EVM or need to apply other part number EVM? Please tell me the full part number if I need to apply in ZS order. Thanks a lot.

LM61495 works because it is 10A version of the same device LM61480 which is 8A version.
