BQ40Z80: BQ40Z80 Balancing Timer Calculations and OCV

Part Number: BQ40Z80
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ41Z90

Question 1.

The balance times calculate the time required to balance based off of SOC differences. How does the time know what current the external balance circuit is using to balance the cells to properly? A larger external balance circuit will subtract more capacity out of the highest capacity cells. While using CB during charge, is there a ratio of charge current to cb current that should not be exceeded?

Question 2.

After all of my cell balance timers go to 0s if a gauge reset is issued, wether at rest or immediatley after balancing, I always see new values calculated. This is unexpected, and leads me to believe there is an error in my calculation. Note: I am using a large capacity battery and scale the capacity via calibration and scale all my settings as such, so I also scaled the cell balance time settings. With a reset comes an OCV reading, but its not making sense that I get such large timers. Is there a limitation to scaling the cell balance timer settings?

Question 3.

BQ41Z90 has an option to set CB using delta V or QMAX, is there an .srec that has this option for the BQ40Z80?
