LM25149: LM25149 EVM setting

Part Number: LM25149

Hi sir,

Customer using EVM and wants to adjsut the Vout, so change the RFB2 from 19.1K-> 3.48K.

In the result, EVM can't power up. (Originally okay)

After changing back the RFB2 to originally board setting, EVM can't power up.

May I know what happen to make the EVM or IC die?

If want to change Vout, anything need to set except for the feedback resistor?

Thanks a lot!

BR,

Sean Liao

  • Hi Sean

If the EVM couldn’t power up after changing RFB2 from 19.1kΩ to 3.48kΩ and still doesn’t power up after reverting, it’s likely that an overvoltage condition occurred - possibly damaging the IC or output capacitors. When adjusting Vout, always recalculate feedback resistors using the datasheet equation; ensure the new Vout stays within all component ratings. Besides the feedback resistor, also verify output capacitor voltage ratings, compensation, and load settings. If the EVM doesn’t recover after restoring RFB2, inspect and replace the IC and possibly damaged passives as necessary. Always follow the EVM user guide for safe changes and power-up procedures.

    Thanks and Regards
