BQ27426: RM Self-Increment Issue Report

Hi Dominik,

This is a transfer from another case.

FAE (Jerry Hu) should have already communicated with you regarding the issue of RM self-increment (increase). Please provide a problem explanation report based on our questions.

The report should include the following:

·Root Cause (Explain, using the IC system block diagram, which circuit/module caused the minute current, the correlation between the minute current and the RM self-increment, and the evidence/basis.)

·Impact of the RM Self-Increment Issue on the Fuel Gauge IC (If there is no impact, please explain the reason.)

·Solution/Countermeasure and Rationale

·Impact of the Countermeasure on the Fuel Gauge IC (If there is no impact, please explain the reason.)

·Reason for not pre-notifying us, since this is a known issue.

·Are there any other known issues?

Attached is our test log. If any other materials are needed, please let us know!

    我重新补充下问题背景。

    背景:

    1、我们电池的使用场景:长时间不充电也不放电,仅电池自损耗会消耗电池电量。当从FuelgaugeIC获取的FIltered RM值低于阈值后,会触发补电,补电电量仅50mAh左右。

    2、我们在测试时,发现长时间处于不充电不放电的静置状态下,从FuelgaugeIC获取的FIltered RM会自增,并且值会累计。

    使用TI demo板进行验证,依然有相同的现象。

    附件是TI demo板的测试日志和我们使用的Fs文件。

    3、在e2e上沟通的结果:因IC的硬件和固件的误差,错误的检测到一个微小的电流,导致passedcharge发生了变化。

    另一个case是在e2e的沟通内容。

    To supplement the issue background again.

    Background:
    1、Usage scenario of our battery: No charging or discharging for a long time; only the battery's self-discharge consumes power. When the Filtered RM value obtained from the Fuelgauge IC drops below the threshold, supplementary charging will be triggered, with the supplementary charging capacity being only about 50mAh.
    2、During testing, we found that when the battery is in a resting state without charging or discharging for a long time, the Filtered RM value obtained from the Fuelgauge IC increases spontaneously and accumulates over time.
    Verification with the TI demo board shows the same phenomenon.
    Attached are the test logs of the TI demo board and the Fs file used by us.
    3、Communication result on e2e: Due to errors in the IC's hardware and firmware, a tiny current is incorrectly detected, leading to changes in passedcharge.
