TPS2052B: Back drive from Output to Input

Part Number: TPS2052B

Dear Team,

Could you please check whether if the output pin of the TPS2052BDGNR gets a voltage back will that IC will be able to supress that and will that be back driven to input.
Like I will be using the output to give supply to HDMI connector when that is TX but when the same pin is used as RX it will be giving 5V which directly be connected to the IC output pin. However the IC EN will be pulled low so there will not be any output from the IC but since it is connected to the connector 5V it will be getting the voltage. So will that cause any issue for the IC and will that voltage will be back driven to Input 5V of the IC.

  • Hi Irfan,

There is a reverse leakage path from OUT to IN that will be present, even when the supply is off.

The leakage will be 0.2uA if VOUT is 5.5V and VIN is GND.  This will be a maximum value, but it will be present for other voltages.

    Regards,

    Chuck
