TIDA-010257: MAx. sampling Frequency

Part Number: TIDA-010257

Hi guys,

Provided that I replace the switching transistors with faster alternatives, i.e. SiC MOSFETS. how much can I raise sampling frequency?   In particular, may I reach 150KHz, or even 300 KHz?

May I stay with F2800137, or shall I move to a faster C2000 MCU?

Thank you

Henri

  • "how much can I raise sampling frequency?"    I mean, of course, how much can I raise switching frequency?

  • Hi Henri,

    There are 2 ISRs in the code. Please take the execution time based on 120MHz F2800137 as reference.

    • Vienna PFC control ISR: 40kHz, 6us;
    • Vienna PFC power measurement ISR: 10kHz, 33us, low priority, can be interrupted by other ISRs.

    If you need to raise up to 150kHz or 300kHz control frequency. You need a faster C2000.

    But if you keep 40kHz or 50kHz control frequency and use 150kHz switching frequency. I think F2800137  can handle this.

    But for 300kHz switching frequency, 150MHz F2800137 may not provide enough PWM duty accuracy.

    Best Regards,

    Jim
