BQ40Z50: Issue with BQ40Z50 EMSHUT Timeout functionality

Part Number: BQ40Z50

I am entering EMSHUT mode by sending the command sequence 0x270C and 0x043D to ManufacturerAccess() (0x00).

However, the device fails to exit EMSHUT mode after the timeout period expires. It appears the timeout function is not working as expected.

Here are my current configuration settings:

  • DA Configuration: 0033

  • Power Off, Timeout: 1 min

  • MFC Delay: 1 s

Note: Based on the documentation, the gauge should exit EMSHUT after the shutdown restore timeout defined by the Timeout parameter. Since my timeout is not set to 0, I expect it to wake up automatically.

  • Hello Kevin,

I read the TRM, and you still need to do any of 4 methods to exit shutdown in addition to the timeout. Did you try any of the four exiting methods?

    """

In addition to these exit conditions, if the gauge enters EMSHUT (via a push button, for example), it can exit the EMSHUT mode after a shutdown restore timeout defined by the Timeout parameter. When setting the timeout is equal to 0, it will not exit EMSHUT mode.
