P-Chan NexFET PCB Question

Sorry if this may be a trivial question, but I am going to be using the CSD25302Q2 to cut the power from my charging device and system using a voltage detector. What I need to know is if I should be connecting all of the source pads together on the PCB along with the two drain pads together? From the datasheet it looks like the sources are internally tied together. I looked at the app. note to Reducing Ringing through PCB Layout Techniques, but since I am not using the PFET to do anything but switch off power if the voltage drops below a threshold I am unsure that I need to worry about the ringing issue.

Thanks,

Cody

  • Cody,

Yes. Sources are internally connected. You shouldn't be worrying about ringing issue since this is a load switch application.

Reducing Ringing through PCB Layout Techniques is specific for buck converter application.
