TPS25751: DRP configuration without BQ devices

Part Number: TPS25751
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65987D,

Dear Sirs and Madams,

Since the TPS65987D has NRND status, I am considering using the TPS25751 to configure the DRP for USB PD.

However, we do not use the BQ Devices battery charger.

The TPS25751 PPHV is intended for bidirectional operation with a pair of back-to-back FETs.

The TPS65987D has separate paths for Sink and Source, but to achieve this with the TPS25751, I think another pair of back-to-back FET paths would be needed, like the TPS65988D.

So, is it expected that the following configuration will be used with TPS25751?

For the TPS25751, there are only examples using the BQ device, but are there any application notes or other materials that do not use the BQ device available?

The TPS65987D was the best choice, but are there plans to release a successor device to the TPS65987D?

Regards,

Masashi
