LM9061: Operation Clarification

Part Number: LM9061

I'm doing some analysis a circuit using the LM9061 and I'm finding the operating is not matching what the datasheet says. I'm willing to bet its a misunderstanding on my part.

In my circuit I'm using a R_thr = 2.49k, R_ref = 15.4k, R_sense = 1K, the FET I'm using is a NVD5806N which has a Rds of ~14mOhms. My supply voltage is 24V, I'm assuming the V_ref = 1.25V, V_os=10mV and I_sense = 10uA (based on datasheet)

When I go through the math from equation 5 of the datasheet I get a max Vds of ~183mV which would give me a maximum load current of ~13A from equation 3. When I test the circuit wiht a bench top programable load maxing out at ~5.9A wiht a max Vds of ~81mV

When I go through the math of section 8.2.1 of the datasheet, I come to approximately the same max V_ds on values of 500mV (483mV) but the datasheet then says the max load is between 150 and 100A. Based on the R_ds valuse given 13-20mOhms, that gives me approximately 24-37A per FET so 100 to 150A seems right.

What am I missing in my circuits that's not tracking?
