DRV7308: can support external driver?

Part Number: DRV7308

Hi Team,

According to the SPEC, the 6-channel PWM control signals of the DRV7308 can accept 15V level input control.

Please help confirm whether the DRV7308 can also be individually controlled using PWM outputs from a driver IC with a predriver?

This is a redundancy design question, please help to check, thank you!

Hi Kailun,

As long as the input voltage for INxx does not exceed 20V, then there should be no issue.

Thank you! Do you mean I can skip the driver inside DRV7308 and using external driver? As long as the voltage input<20V in INXX.

Hi Kailun,

No, the internal drivers cannot be bypassed with an external driver. The INxx pins are used to give the appropriate commands to the internal predriver to turn on or off the FETs.
