BQ25618: Entering Shipping mode sequence

Hi Team,

I would like to confirm with you if we use this sequence to enter shipping mode, is there any hardware risk?

Plug in Adapter
Ensure Charger IC detects VBUS
Set BATFET_DIS =1
BATFET_RST_WBUS =1
5 Remove Adapter
MCU Shut Down
Charger enter shipping mode

Hi Ernest,

Device will enter ship mode upon adapter removal if BATFET is disabled. It is also recommended set BATFET_RST_WBUS prior to disabling the BATFET. So the revised sequence would be as follows:

1. Plug in adapter
2. Ensure Charger IC detects VBUS
3. BATFET_RST_WBUS = 1
4. Set BATFET_DIS = 1
5. Remove Adapter
6. Charger enters Ship Mode
7. MCU shut down

Hi Ernest,

I stand corrected. As you know now, setting BATFET_RST_WBUS before/after disabling BATFET will not effect device entering shipmode. The sequence you have should be ok.
