PSPICE-FOR-TI: LM337

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM337, LM337-N

Hello,

Attached is a PSPICE design that uses an LM337; in this configuration, the component does not function.

Thank you for your help.MES40.zip

  • Hi Druilhe

Can you provide the LM337 .lib file as well? It appears that that may be a third-party model, as we do not have a model for the LM337.

If the simulation works as expected with VALIMH connected to GND, but not when the VREFGH is floated to +15V, it is possible that the LM337 model assumes its input voltage is always lower than 0V. I tested this design with our released LM337-N model, which does exhibit this behavior. Setting V3 to a positive output voltage prevents the model from working as expected, while setting it to a negative voltage does work.

  • Hello,
Please find the LM337.lib file attached.
Is it possible to run it in simulation mode under these conditions?

    Best regards

  • Hi Yvan,

It looks like the LM337-N model was reused for the LM337 - the model file you attached matches the LM337 exactly.

Unfortunately, this model uses an older model architecture which does not support operation with the input voltage outside of the range of ~-1.2V to -40V.

We plan to address this limitation in a future model update but cannot provide an estimated timeline for that effort at this time.

    Best Regards,
