LMR51610: LMR51610XDBVR application

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have a question about my application when using LMR51610XDBVR
In my circuit, there is a 24Vac (18-30Vac) which is rectified by a full bridge diode to become a DC voltage with ripple to supply to LMR51610XDBVR to regulate 5Vdc
my Unregulated DC (the input voltage of LMR51610 will vary from min.8.86V - max.41V with 120Hz, may I know if LMR51610XDBVR can still regulate at 5V? any impact to the output voltage ripple ?

Hi Kelvin,

Yes, the LMR51610XDBVR can regulate at 5V, provided the minimum input voltage remains above its dropout threshold.

To minimize the impact on the output ripple you may want to add an electrolytic cap on your input or increase the capacitance.

Hi Tony,

thanks for your quick answer. May I know what is the impact to the output voltage ripple in case I already have 5pcs 22uF + 0.1uf + 10pf ceramic capacitor at the output

At the input, I have ~100uF electrolytic cap + 3.3uF ceramic capacitor
