TPS2116: Need design input

Part Number: TPS2116

Here is my design. My priority is always Vy(VIN1-1.8V). But Vx(Vin2--3.3) is always on supply and whenever Vy is not there Vx will take over. PR1 is controlled from a external dip switch low means Vx and high means Vy. In some places of datasheet it is recommended to to connect mode to Vin1. But, I want that to be connected to VIN2 since that is always on. Is that okay?. Whenever PR is low and Vy=0 Vx=3.3. will there be a backflow of voltage from Vout to Vy?. Please review the below design.

  • Hi,

you can connect to VIN2 but make sure When MODE is pulled low and PR1 is pulled high, the device enters shutdown. Both channels are turned off, and the output is high impedance. When the PR1 pin is pulled low, the higher voltage supply between VIN1 and VIN2 is passed to the output.

there won't be any back flow of voltage from VOUT to VIN.

    schematic looks fine no issues.

    thanks,
