I am relaying a question from a customer:

>>> We have a old battery product designed 5 years back using bq2085. Due to cell discontinuance, I have to change the cell to a Panasonic CGR18650CG (3s3p configuration). The issue I have is the CEDV parameters in the EEPROM. The engineer who designed this battery has left long ago. I am not so familiar with this old IC. Can you please check to see if TI already has data for this cell type that can be programmed into our circuit board?

CEDV is very pack dependent. Cell configuration, cell tab resistance, wire resistance, etc all affect the outcome of the CEDV coefficients. Therefore, keeping a cell database for CEDV coefficients won't do any good. You will need to follow the instructions at the following link to generate 6 files that can be used with Mathcad to create the coefficients for the new pack.

Please explain the Chemistry ID numbers per TI's spreadsheet. I thought this was for required constants that TI has predetermined through your own characterization of various cells of various chemistry's from a number of cell manufacturer's.
