Hi,

I am using BQ24160 IC for my project, my problem is, the charger IC is generating interrupt (reset) to the processor when battery is not present, then again system

is re-booting. please let me know what are the registers i need to do? my system is working when battery is present.

Hi,

What exactly causing a reset on the processor, is the sys voltage drop as you remove the battery?

Can you please send me a schematic to look at and some wave forms?

The battery detection circuit will source/sink current every 250ms as shown in figure 9. If you want to disable battery detection, you can disable termination. If not, you will have to modify your software to ignore the interrupt.

Hi Tahar,

please check the attached schematics and waveforms of battery charger IC , here INT pin goes to application processor and STAT pin goes to the PMIC.please do needful as early as possible.

Hi Tahar,

please find the attached schematics. STAT pin is not going to processor direcly... its going to PMIC (TWL6030).... attached schematics

The SYS rail should NOT be pulsing up and down. Only the BAT rail should be pulsing up and down as shown in d/s figure 9. Do you have an external FET tying SYS to BAT? If so, its gate should be connected to BGATE pin, which will turn off the FET and disconnect the the two rails.

Hi Jeff,

we don't have any external MOSFET in our schematics... please find the schematics below.... the charger output (SYS) is pulsating when battery not present. please tell me

what i need to chage in schematics/firmware?

Regarding the schematic, I do not see anyhting that would cause SYS to droop.

What is the frequency of the droop? Every 250ms? What is the load on SYS at the time? What is the IN input current limit?

Hi Jeff,

The load at time is 1.5A ,the current limit of IN pin is 2.5A and we are getting that droop at every restarting.
