About the stat pin of BQ2057 when there is no battery connected?

I've design a charger using BQ2057C, and I'm wondering that how the stat pin functions when there is no battery connected to the charger?

I measured the pin and it is low. So I cannot tell from the charging done status and no battery status?

Hi,

Please see the operation flow chart on figure 2 page 8.

If the battery is removed, do you still have TS pin connected to the battery, if not you should have the charge suspend mode.

I tied the TS pin to 1/2VCC to disable the function. Is the TS pin the only way to detect whether the battery is removed?

Hi Qiyue,

On the EVM, the LED turns off when the battery is removed. It goes low impedance. Just like your observation.

In your case, you may need to use the TS pin, but it will be confusing too between the battery getting out of range and the removal of the battery.
