Bq78Pl116 and RF interference

I have to use Bq78pll16 with a system of 2.5KW microwave device.

1). What will be effect of RF on gauging of 116.

2). Usually to avoid RF, device is properly shielded & GND, so that any noise is gnd to the battery. Doing so will cause noise at PACK- of the 116 (which is gnd of battery), will it effect the current measurement capabiliy of the device.

Mohit, EC

  • Mohit,

The physical device should not be sensitive to RF interference in that frequency range, but external components, traces, etc. will provide a path for interference to enter the device. I am not sure what your module looks like, but we typically see a shell that encases the battery system with the shield connected to Pack-.Bat- would be inside the shielded case and it would not be connected to the shield.
