bq3050

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ3050

Are the VREG33 and VREG25 rails useable for external ICs to the bq3050?  If they are how much current is one allowed to draw from these rails?  There is a max current spec but I could not fund how much current the bq3050 itself draws from these rails.  Maybe the spec is already accounting for this and the max spec is what an external device an draw?

  • The max spec is the total current load the regulators can supports. The spec doesn't exclude the device's own current consumption and when you look at the regulator load, you need to take the device current consumption into account. REG25 is also used to bias the thermistors, I wouldn't recommend putting external load on that. The device's current consumption is under the Supply Current table, the spec is without any flash write. The current consumption during flash write is under the Flash spec table.
