controlling the output of a PTH08T255W via the "Track" pin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PTH12040W, PTH08T255W

I have been using the PTH12040W Power module to control the current in hi power lazer diodes. I sense the current and apply it to the "Track" pin closing the loop.

I now need more current and intend to parallel multiple PTH08T255W to acheve this. I plan to configure them as master slave and utilize the "Track" pin on the master to close the loop.

My question is that the data sheet for the PTH08T255w states that "The Auto-Track pin should never be used to regulate the output voltage for long term-steady state applications". Pg 21 note 6. The data sheet for thePTH12040W does not have this note.

What is the difference between these two modules with regard to their "Track"  function and can I configure a constant current mode with the PYH08T255W as I have done with the PTH12040W.
