We are doing a failure analysis on our system, and we have a few questions about the UC2845 that might help us determine the risk going forward. The concern is that it could potentially latch the PWM at max duty cycle and go open loop. Is that possible? Or is there some protection in the device that would prevent that?
Looking at the block diagram, if the current sense line was damaged somehow, it could latch the PWM in this manner, but maybe there is something that would prevent that.
Another question is how many transistors and interconnects are in the part? If we know this, it will help us calculate the possible fail rate of our system, which we must improve to certify our system.
