Change Address on bq20z95

We have an application where 2 bq20z95 will be used in two seperate mini-packs that will make one big pack. Is there a way for the bq20z95's to be assigned addresses so the host may probe the dataflash of each pack independently?

Hi Manuel,

Unfortunately the SMBus address for the bq20z90 is fixed and cannot be changed in the existing device. This is something we are looking at but nothing planned at this time.

Hi,

We also have the same problem with a product we are developing. We have 4 BMSs each with bq20z95 as part of a battery control system. We need to change the I2C address of each of our boards so that the system will be able to recognise them. Is this impossible or is there another way around it?

Hi Karl,
The fixed address is to comply with the SBS specifications. The only way, I can think, around it is to use an I2C Multilplexer. I have not used one myself, but it should work.
Our newer devices such as the bq40z50-R1 do support changing the address, if you absolutely need this feature.
