BQ2060 based LI-ION battery

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ2060

hi all,

im using BQ2060 gas guage based LI-ION battery in our project. i want to put the battery in low power storage mode when the battery is in shelf. anybody please suggest me an idea of how to do this???

i tried with the command 0x0618 gven in the datasheet by connecting eval board EV-2200.

i connected the battery with EV2200-60 software.

i navigated to PRO tab inEV2200-60 software.

in manufacturer access tab i have given the value 0618 in hex field.

is this is the correct procedure???? how can i see whether my battery is in low power mode or not???

  • Yes, you are doing it correctly. Make sure the 0x0618 command is the last one you send since any further communication on the bus will cause the bq2060 to wake back up. The only way to verify that the battery is in storage mode is to measure the supply current. It should be less than 10uA. Make sure the LEDs are off before sending the command since they don't change state once the command is sent.
