Are the UCD9222 VID2x Signals being used?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9222

Hi I wanted to ask on the EVM's that I saw earlier posts abouts:

The user guides for the Advantech evm ( http://www.advantech.com/Support/TI-EVM/6678le_download.aspx) and the KeyStone reference.(http://www.ti.com/litv/pdf/sprabi2a).

can you confirm that the UCD9222_VID2x signals on the EVM which should control the 1.0V power source (VCC1V0), are not implemented and not used?

If they are not used why is that?

Thanks,

Ran

  • I know that the VID lines are used for the CVDD rail as this rail implements the SmartReflex interface (DPWM1A).

The schematic indicates that the VID lines for Rail#2 (DPWM2A) are also connected but I am not aware that this rail has any dynamic voltage requirements associated to it so they may not be used.

In fact a quick review of the configuration file for the EVM indicates that Rail#2 is configured for fixed voltage operation and will ignore the VID lines.
